It teaches: an algorithm is a list of exact steps. Plan before you act, find the mistake when it goes wrong (debugging), and look for a shorter way.
- 2 min, before: "How would you tell a friend the way from the gate to our class, step by step?" Write three steps on the board.
- 6 min, play together: show a level on the projector. The class calls out each arrow; you tap it. Press Run. If the robot bumps, ask "Which step was wrong?" and fix only that one.
- 2 min, after: ask the three questions below.
Ask the class: 1. Why did the robot not go round the rock by itself? 2. Which step did we fix, and how did we find it? 3. Can we do it in fewer steps?
